Slam Poetry 2: Paradox

~To that avid mystery novel fan~

I’m sure everyone relates to

the regret of

reaching the last chapter

of a good book-

skimming through the pages

wanting to skip to the end,

the frustration and irritation-

after this one

you will have to hunt,

for a new mystery,

that has to trump the high bar

set

knowing that it

will probably never

beat this one

all because you rushed brilliance.

Now think about that same time

that bliss

after finishing the book

the relief, the suspense

revelations

resolutions

satiety

the great delight in knowing

that

after all those accusations

roundabouts

contemplation

and utmost patience

.

.

.

THE BUTLER DID IT.
